UPRISE Project Workshop about Ultrafine particles (UFP) and micro-nanoplastics (MNP)
Overview:
Join the UPRISE project for an interactive workshop exploring the latest research on emerging pollutants, specifically focusing on ultrafine particles (UFP) and micro-nanoplastics (MNP). This session will examine environmental and health impacts, existing knowledge and technological gaps, and provide tailored insights for policymakers and innovators.
Both UFPs and MNPs are important components of the so-called exposome, i.e., the sum of environmental factors influencing human health, including noise and diet. Despite their considerable contribution to the global burden of disease, no legal limit values have yet been established for UFPs or MNPs.
The findings will be presented by Athena Progiou and Zoi Panagiota Kryona from the Greek company and UPRISE project partner AXON ENVIRO-GROUP Ltd (AXON).
Key Topics:
Current research and scientific status regarding ultrafine particles and micro-nanoplastics from UPRISE and other projects.
Environmental exposure and health implications.
Technological and measurement gaps in identifying pollutants.
Actionable take-home messages for policymakers and industry innovators.
