About UPRISE
Why This Research Matters
Air pollution is an invisible threat, but its effects on pregnancy can be lifelong.
UPRISE is a collaborative research project dedicated to addressing the urgent public health challenge posed by airborne UFPs and MNPs. These pollutants, derived from sources such as traffic emissions, industrial waste, and plastic degradation, have been detected in human tissues, including the placenta and fetal environment. By investigating their biological impact, UPRISE will contribute to the growing body of evidence linking environmental pollution to adverse birth outcomes, neonatal health risks, and long-term disease susceptibility. Our work will not only advance scientific understanding but also support policy-driven solutions to reduce exposure risks and improve health outcomes for future generations.
